Addiction: a forum about the disease


A story of two sons took place in nearby Easton. One son had cancer. The other son suffered from addiction. The son with cancer was enveloped by the caring and compassion of the community. The son with addiction was not.

“If both boys had a disease, why were they treated so vastly differently?,” asked Gary Mendell, founder and CEO organization Shatterproof, a non-profit organization that aims to end the “devastation that addiction causes families,” according it its website.
